‘DAVID LYTTLE’S MISCELLANY’ AN EVENING SUPPORTING HELP MUSICIANS UK Featuring: Seamus Blake, Michael Janisch, David Lyttle, Meilana Gillard Trio and Special Guest

Jazz icon David Lyttle curates ‘Miscellany’ – a series of unique performances in support of Help Musicians UK.

The MOBO-nominated musician and the ‘most celebrated jazz musician of today’ will bring a host of world famous artists to London’s legendary 100 Club venue on 5 February. Amongst the stellar line-up will be Seamus Blake, Michael Janisch and the Meilana Gillard Trio.

DAVID LYTTLE has been described as Ireland’s most celebrated jazz musician of today and the Independent recently lauded David as representing the best in jazz coming out of Ireland. He’s collaborated with jazz legends and icons, including Joe Lovano, Soweto Kinch and Jean Toussaint, and always keeps a global diary.

Saxophonist SEAMUS BLAKE is a true contemporary jazz star. He’s released 16 albums as a leader and appeared on over 70 as a bandleader. His associations include John Scofield, Kurt Rosenwinkel and the Mingus Big Band.

London-based American bassist MICHAEL JANISCH is a vital force in British and European jazz. Nominated for Best Jazz Act in the 2016 MOBO Awards he has been touring and recorded extensively for the past 10 years, working with Lee Konitz, John Taylor, George Garzone, Mark Turner and many more.

American saxophonist MEILANA GILLARD was a hotly tipped rising star on the New York scene in the early 2000s before moving to Northern Ireland in 2012. She releases her second album ‘Dream Within A Dream’ last year to great acclaim, and has also worked with Christian McBride, the Diva Big Band, Debbie Reynolds and Glenn Campbell. She’ll be joined by hotly-tipped pianist Alex Bryson and bassist Conor Chaplin of 2017 Mercury nominee Dinosaur.
